(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
The PTA runs the STEM program for Peterson Elementary.  This enrichment program is in addition to the school science curriculum and currently includes the Science Fair, a Science Assembly and Earth Day. Parents are encouraged to join the STEM committee and volunteer to help for individual events.  No science background is required!!  Just bring your curiosity and willingness to help! You will be rewarded by seeing students' minds expand and their self-confidence increase!!

What happens if I use cold water versus hot, to make bubbles? Will plants grow faster if I play music? What experiment would you like to do?
Peterson's Science Fair is scheduled for

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019, 6-8 pm

Peterson Elementary Science Fair Information

All Peterson students and their families are invited to participate in the science fair.  In preparation for the fair, each student can develop one project to present, with the help of parents. Students may work individually or teams, up to four people. Students do not have to be in the same grade level to work together. These guidelines should answer any questions you may have on this fun and educational process.

Parent / Student Friendly Science Fair Planning Guide
Looking for a student/parent-friendly science fair planning guide?  This guide was created by a Science Lab Teacher named Lora Holt.  It is a great guide to get you and your student planning for the Science Fair.  It has some great explanations of The Scientific Method.  But, remember, it was created for another district so the specific dates, Science Fair Rules, and Point Guide for judging do not apply to our Science Fair.  Please refer to our Science Fair and Safety Guidelines links above for this information.
