Important Traffic Information

At Peterson School, safety is our number one priority. We must always put student safety before expediency. We ask for your help as we all must adhere to the following drop-off and pick-up procedures.

Currently, ALL Peterson students are eligible for busing. This includes Ashwood Park student will be bused due to construction hazards. The City of Naperville has NOT approved any safe walking/biking paths at this time. When construction is complete and sidewalks are in, bus routes within Ashwood may be eliminated.

AM DROP OFF/PM PICK UP

The front circle lane is for bus traffic only. Bus traffic will converge on the traffic circle from 103rd Street or Honey Locust and will proceed to the front of the building for drop off.

The car drop off line is located at the west end of the building and uses the outer lane of the staff parking lot. In order to eliminate car/bus traffic congestion, please identify the following driving path:

If you live in Wheatland South, Crestview Knolls, Anderman Acres or Pheasant Ridge:

  • Follow 103rd west to the traffic circle
  • Proceed around the traffic circle to Honey Locust
  • Take Honey Locust south to Winterberry Avenue
  • Turn west (right) on Winterberry Avenue
  • Turn north (right) on Chinaberry
  • Turn right into the student drop-off lane
  • Follow same path to exit school property

If you live in Tamarack Fairways, Tamarack West, Century Trace, The Reserves of Century Trace, Ashwood Park or Ashwood Creek:

  • Take 248th to Ashwood Road and turn west
  • Turn north (right) on White Ash Lane
  • Turn right on Teak Circle
  • Turn west (left) on Winterberry Avenue
  • Turn north (right) on Chinaberry
  • Turn right into the student drop-off lane
  • Follow the same path to exit school property

MID-DAY KINDERGARTEN DROP OFF/PICK UP

  • Only mid-day kindergarten car riders may be dropped off and picked up in the front circle drive
  • Cars must line themselves behind buses and day-care vans

Safety duty assignments are in place before and after school to supervise and protect our children during arrival and dismissal; however, your partnership is essential in ensuring students’ safety. By following these outlined procedures, we can collectively assure the safety of our students. Please carefully review the procedures above and the attached diagrams. If you have any questions, please call the school office at 428-5678.

Sincerely,

Terri Russell

Principal
