St. Patrick's Residential Care Facility
Wheatland School third, fourth, and fifth grade students made 220 woven Saint Patrick’s Day baskets for the residents living at Saint Patrick’s Residential Care Facility in Naperville. The baskets were made out of plastic Solo Cups donated by the Solo Cup Company. Popcorn was served in the baskets during the Sunday movie matinee.
Wheatland students learned to make the Solo Cup baskets in Creative Problem Solving (CPS) class. Those students who were interested in making extra baskets for the senior citizens worked on the baskets during lunchtime, recess, after school, and at home.
