Who Is Danielle-Joy Peterson?
Danielle-Joy Peterson was born in Florida and moved to the Naperville area with her family during her elementary school years. Danielle attended Clow Elementary, Gregory Middle School and Waubonsie Valley High School.
Early in life, Danielle was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Despite these diagnoses, Danielle lived her life with great enthusiasm and perseverance. Danielle loved art and spending time with her family and friends. She did special work with the A.D.O.P.T foundation, even adopting 3 Chihuahuas of her very own. She had a great love of animals, collecting every beanie baby possible. Her love of children was apparent when she donated her beanie baby collection to children in need.
Danielle loved any shade of purple, the same color that beautifully adorns the new school. In Danielle’s honor, purple and gold will be Peterson’s official school colors. After high school graduation, Danielle took college courses and worked a full time job in the Indian Prairie Human Resources Department.
Unfortunately, in her early 20’s Danielle lost her battle with cystic fibrosis. During her short life, she brought joy to all of those around her with her bright smile and contagious laugh. We are all honored to have our school named after Danielle-Joy Peterson.
School Colors
Danielle loved any shade of purple. In her honor, the Peterson school colors are purple and gold.
