1:1 Chromebook Presentation on 8/23 at 6:00pm

Reported by allison_landstrom@ipsd.org on 8/19/18

Over the course of several years, District 204 has embarked on a 1:1 initiative to provide Chromebook devices to students to support learning and instruction. Students at the middle school began the initiative during the 16-17 school year. Last year, the high school began this initiative, along with pilot opportunities at elementary. The 18-19 school year brings this incredible opportunity fully to elementary.

This past year, second grade piloted this program with great success. During the upcoming school year, students in grades 2-5 will use a Chromebook as a tool to support their learning. Mrs. Schimmoler and I will host a presentation on Thursday, August 23rd from 6:00-7:00 pm to help parents better understand how Chromebooks will be used and expectations for students while using them. Parents will receive the 1:1 Handbook and parent agreement. If you are unable to make the presentation, the materials will be sent home with students on Friday. Remember, children will not be allowed to bring their Chromebook home until the parent agreement is signed. Please let either of us know if you have any questions!

Best,
Allison Landstrom, Principal
Ann Schimmoler, LMC Director
